It says in the Bible (in connection with that Sodom and Gomora thing) that the city will be saved if there are only ten good men. If the "other" side had won the election, there would still be a big problem with almost half of the population thinking that fear and hate would save us, and we would go on fighting each other. Instead, the side lost that is MORE practiced at going within and praying for a solution and a miracle that will save us all. We need to recover the other side, not defeat them. WE are better at recovery than they are, and we are chosen to do so for all of humanity. The side won that will most benefit both sides. I am excited about the prospects for the future and I AM filled with love and joy and excitement about the future, filled with love, instead of victory that implies losers.

I don't understand your sentence, "The side won that will most benefit both sides." Are you saying Donald Trump and the Republican Senate will most benefit both sides?

founding

Marianne’s comments are right on … The Democratic Party shot itself in the foot when they didn’t allow a Democratic Primary … They lost their way when they made fund raising more important than the content of their message … They need to go back to their roots … to make the needs of Ordinary Americans the focus of their message … Otherwise … they will simply become irrelevant.

The fund raising solicitations still come out wanting us rank & file members to send still more money to the oligarch-owned operatives after the operatives threw the people under a bus yet again. They are corrupt and rotten to the core. The only rational response is that of the subscribers thrown under the bus by Wapo's oligarch owners--unsubscribe and replace.

Great messages, your focus is strong and true. Giving us all hope in this time of change. The seeds you planted on the campaign trail are growing strong.

Marianne, first, I love you. Second, I think you will be more effective if you decide not to attack the DNC/Dem inner circle who orchestrated the bad election strategy. You were right, they were wrong, but what we/you want is for you to lead us all with loving, accepting leadership…. Thank you as always for all you do. 🥰❤️😍

I still don't know what to make of all this.

Here is what I do know.

The statistics and every day experience show us that people don't read local newspapers anymore. One of the statistics I heard from a source I respect said 65 to 75 percent of local communities have no local papers or online affordable news sources.

Many people I know, and others I observe, don't follow the intricacies of their government at any level. The older one are more interested in "Dancing with the Stars," and the like. The younger ones are more interested Tic Toc (or however it is spelled. I don't follow it).

I find it difficult to engage with people on anything other than a surface level anymore. From my perspective it seems people are happy being blissfully ignorant of anything serious.

They don't hear what I say or write. They don't engage with me on any level other than smiles and laughs.

We no longer talk politics or social issues with an entire side of our family. One branch tells us that working people "agree," to low, unlivable wages. So it is ok for the corporations to pay them poorly.

They tell us that they are "alright," with working conditions that have been shown to shorten a worker's life span, even if that "someone," is a sibling, son, uncle, etc.

Another family member is a conspiracy theorists, who believes the conspiracies he hears are real, factual news stories.

I could go on. My personal experience isn't special or unique. My suspicion is that is typical of other frustrated, serious minded people.

I take a little comfort that a young, smart, progressive woman my husband and I know had the courage to run for state senate in our district. She had to know she would not prevail, but ran anyway.

Our state is progressive but our beloved Oregon wine country home is in transition from its more right leaning roots. Many are resentful or our wine bars, art and yoga studios; disdainful of our pronouns.

If I can get all my technology to work, I'll tune in to your zoom meeting tonight, Marianne. But I really have no idea where to go with all of this other than to prayer, which is a powerful and good place to go.

Maybe by talking together we can understand one another's ideas and concerns. Maybe we can come up with a plan for our politics.

For now, I just learned I was cast in a production of "Fiddler on the Roof," in our local community theatre. I am going to put a lot of energy in making meaningful art. In my opinion, this particular show is one of the most important and powerful pieces of 20th century theatre, especially now.

I have to ask,"would it ruin some great eternal plan," if we had more wealthy men like the fictional Tevye instead of the real ones like Elon Musk?

I hope to be with many of you this evening. Meantime, a girl friend and I are going to a local, free, community band concert for Veterans' Day.

Blessed be.

Marianne, always such a light. There no wonder why they shut you out and the establishment has paid for it. Thats the silver lining to all of this.

I joined Andrew Yangs, Forward Party this week. What i love is that people of any party affiliation can join. The focus must be electoral reform moving forward before any meaningful and lasting change can happen.

Thank you Marianne for all you do.

Do you get to throw things at these Fox people or they're behind bullet proof glass ? Remember the traveling Carnivals : clown over barrel, barrel filled with water, throw softball, hit target, clown falls in the water ?

There is no Left Wing Populism all populism is lumpenproletariat and they adore Fascism; the latter can't exist without them. It's how The Trumpster won.

What civilized society needs to be about is local government serving the citizenry securing and protecting our Life, Liberty and Property and every time they don't they're corrected by the imposition of adverse consequences pursuant to the Supreme Law of the Land - that's been missing since fedsoc bought the judiciary - aside from other problems like the finality fetish and a general ignorance of what Equity is in re Law and Equity.

Economic Determinism under a Capitalist system wherein government is 100% dependent and subservient to the Profit Class for all government spending money has established exactly what you appear to oppose - so it's not serving the Citizenry unless you consider that the citizenry ought to sell the protection and security of their life. liberty and property and the best you can do is haggle over the price.

As far as I can tell that's the ethos of the SPM. It doesn't matter what side of the hyphen you're on. That's what the Fox automaton is demanding you knuckle under and submit to - they don't care what you say all they care about is that you submit. It's the only function Fox has and the only function of Nazi-fascism.
