What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful soul! Boy! Do you have the gift of writing so clearly and conscidely with such love 💗 and power! I am grateful foe you dear Marianne - my teacher - and Thich Nhat Hahn. May this be the wake up call to arms I need to take my place in my own loving heart and share that love, compassion and forgiveness with the world. I do so desire to be a beneficial presence. Amen
Beautiful reflection. One line that stood out for me was: “Mindfulness is a point of stillness, bringing harmony not only to the psyche but to the world around us.” It reminds me that I can stop my scurrying around, even without moving, and in a mindful breath bring that stillness and it’s ensuing harmony into my being.
Dear Marianne, Thich Nhat Han taught me to meditate at 7 years old and I am forever grateful for how his grateful mindfulness lives on in me and us. Thank you for this phenomenal tribute ❤️
Yes, yes indeed! It was amazing! And guess what helped me meditate and pray my way through my break up with the love of my life when I was 20?! A Return To Love ❤️ Thank you dear Marianne! Thank you ❤️
Marianne, your tribute to him--magnificent! Your writing was inspired by a giant soul who walked among us. We are all so fortunate to have known of him during our lifetime, and your words about his life and our need to mindfully carry on ring deeply true. I so appreciated your reflections today. 🙏💓☮
I had a chance to see Thich Nhat Hanh in-person once at a peaceful gathering. What impressed me about him then and seeing him during TV interviews remains his absolute joy of being and his sweet laughter too. His essence so lovely. He never let go of the innocent, beautiful child within himself. Spectacular human! I already miss knowing he is no longer with us but in our hearts forever.
Beautiful tribute Marianne. Thầy (lovingly referred to as teacher) had a way to make the Buddhist teachings accessible and profoundly simple to understand. He was 95 at the time of transition. 11.10.1926-22.01.2022
His simple, quiet way was so powerful. His bright light will never dim…it lives in everyone whose life he touched, whether through his writing, his words, or his physical presence.
Years ago I remember browsing through a magazine and came upon a full page picture of him. The look of compassion in his eyes immediately brought me to tears. I wasn’t even feeling particularly sad or distressed. It was such a visceral experience. Can only imagine what it was like to be in his physical presence. 🙏❤️🙏
Wonderfully written ... Thich That Hanh brought the practice of Stillness and Love to millions through is being, his example and through the 100 or so books he's written ... Our world will miss him ... Thank You Marianne.
Thank you, Marianne, for reminding us of our part in carrying forward the legacy he left behind. It is easy to acknowledge his wisdom in the many moments he delivered it. As you quite rightly say, it is now up to us to embody that wisdom and be the light for the generations that follow us. Namaste ☺️ 💗

Or a call to disarm?
