We are all called to care for each other, although some seem to be more committed than others, in fact given the chaos in the world, it almost seems that very few heed the call. Certainly it's evident in the people elected and selected to serve for the greatest good of the people, who spend so much time in silly theatrics, accusations, wasting tax dollars and continuing to ignore the cries of the unhoused, uninsured, and too many more to count. We are to have mercy with those who cause injury, to forgive them and yet, we cry out for mercy on behalf of a hurting nation and world. Marianne, you lead us with love and courage, gives us so much hope. Thank you from the depths of our hearts.

... and the cry went out, throughout the land. Dear Ms Williamson, In a country such as mine; just to the North of yours, this message rings true as well. Universal health-care without an adequate population of health-care professionals is also peril~izing. A well crafted and an all inclusive health-care system must be well run with only the people's welfare as motivation. If it is not then there is nothing to boast about. We can list the countries around the globe that espouse Universal health-care and hold them up as models, and review and acknowledge there are many cracks and down right holes as it now stands. Canada and Britain spring quickly to mind as examples. Thank you for reminding us, your devoted readers, that peace through love can and has been done, and as we are One we shall continue to know this to be true. Namaste ~ Jacquie from Central BC Canada

Poverty is a POLICY CHOICE at the Fed level. I encourage all to read The Deficit Myth by Dr Stephanie Kelton. It's easy to read, NY Times bestseller, and on Audible. Once you see it, you can't unsee it...

I've heard Kelton--she's spot on and honest!

It is definitely times of emergencies and crisis. According to World Food Program’s 400 million dollars is needed as more people will starve on our Planet. It’s an emergency alright!

What does the DNC think about these ideas? And if they beg to differ, once again - what are we talking about...exactly?

On a more philosophical note... We certainly can come up with some examples of countries where people seem to have succeeded in building "caring" societies. And we also have very different examples - America being one of those. So I would like to ask another question, "Despite the fact that it's technically one and the same political and economic system, why are the outcomes poles apart?"

Note data at the UN on quality of life and health and well-being, including their happy index too. The U.S. focuses heavily on short-term profits while other countries do not; plus, we are more an individualist society instead of a collective one--as most are in Europe, etc., whereby people are criticized for not being considerate of others needs beyond their own. So lots to digest for the U.S. and to evolve from here!

Of course, they're better off that way. As for the rest, that's pretty much my point - the mentalities are fundamentally different...

The only thing we can do is to accept mind sets as they are and support changing them! It takes time but I don't know if civilization will make it or not. It's all questionable these days.

"Questionable" is kinda charitable. I'd go with "extremely precarious". Hence my modest attempts here. Which are meant to suggest taking a realistic look at things. You Joan, for example. If you do understand how serious the situation is, why are you opting for another Matrix-esque imitation? Isn't it time to approach it just as seriously?

American Zoetroper, I approach life seriously and have a lingering hope that humanity will realize we are one and not separate entities to compete with or destroy each other. I also realize if my 'dream' for a better existence is only that, well, the game is over.

I intend to live out my life as best I can while thinking, somehow, people will get it! I know the situation is grim; yet, I cannot falter for the sake of those around me who need the courage to live well beyond my years if that is even possible. Finally, collective mobilization can work! I think of WW2 as an example of triumph over hideous, destructive forces.

I'm sorry, Joan, but are you really missing the point? Or are you obfuscating on purpose? I think my question was very clear, simple, and direct. I also asked it here like half a dozen times. On all those occasions you chose either to ignore it or - like you just did - get back with a bunch of grand words that have nothing to do with the question. My original comment above contains it. It's the very first thing there. By the way, for a very good reason. But you choose to "overlook" it for the umpteenth time in favour of sharing your general philosophic outlook or citing historical examples from a century ago. So much for any kind of serious approach, don't you think? Now, are you prepared to try coming up with an actual answer? Or do you want me to formulate the question once more?

Our governmental agencies should be in business to assist it's clients with the tools and skills to live happy, thriving lives - instead of being in the business of creating dependency that keeps people in survival mode. Our government agencies need people to continue getting funding so they don't want them to become self-sufficient and move out of the system - they will lose money if that happens.

I hope you will change the dysfunctional medical system( with record numbers of ill) to a health care system. The teaching of ACIM is that illness is caused by the unhealed unwhole mind.

Would you be brave enough to not follow the crowds, to keep pointing to Self knowledge =Access to true healing .

Illness is not from the 1861 germ hypothesis, an old debunked lie that greatly profits Rockefellers snake oil industry https://theendofcovid.com

All your wants for the people of America to end their suffering , are really for their enlightenment, no other goal will help.

A road to Heaven or Hell( the Status Quo).

Marianne is spot on regarding unnecessary human suffering and the need for charity and just governmental policies. As our nation has surged in population, well, it's unrealistic to think that charity alone can lift up those needing help for the basics of daily living. Good governance can uplift everyone together and that's why I support Williamson for president--she gets it! Her talent is seeing the macro picture as well as having first-hand experience trying to help ameliorate today's challenging societal problems.

I'm thinking she should do more of this: "The amelioration of unnecessary suffering is a calling of the soul." This is her strength, her difference from all the other candidates, and an education humanity needs about the nobility of humans.

Expand full comment

Suzanne, I totally agree with your concept, however, very few voters think about "a calling of the soul". So MW needs to stick to words, like 'ethics' 'moral imperative', etc. But I am with you since studying with some systems scientists/paradigm leaders, who also agree with you too. Hopefully, we can still save the planet when folks realize we are all in this together with "all being equal" within the Cosmos and under the stars shining bright!

I'd like to see her educate "voters" to modern science where we're in a quantum universe not a Newtonian one, here to get it that we are soul stuff and not just materialists. Marianne could educate people to the massive shift of understanding humanity needs to stop killing each other and start being custodians of this beautiful Earth.

Suzanne, I totally agree. It's a big quantum leap for most folks to grasp that we are entering a new paradigm. I know Marianne understands this and would do well educating others on it. However, at this juncture during a political cycle it may come across as too fringe but I know her talk of ending the status quo is a good secular way to help us get to a better place that's part of the new renaissance. We can help by trying to interject these ideas as suitable.

I don't want to belabor this to death but she is so far from being taken seriously that I'd say she should step up how unique she is in dealing with the fundamental change we need as a way to get her attention and appreciation that just "good policies" won't get her.

I share your concern, and she could interview someone on this angle during her FireLight Chats; then, bring up any valuable/actionable points from the interview during her campaign speeches on various topics where she could emphasize new scientific knowledge. Indeed, she faces a huge challenge and should use this campaign opportunity to help advance a paradigm shift that needs to escalate for the sake of all on this planet.
