I remember reading and then hearing about Nixon's agenda just last year and feeling saddened by the mindset of not only him but his cabinet members. I am disappointed that I was only aware of the sensationalism of their antics and not the agenda driving deeper hate and divisiveness.

The president, his cabinet and elected officials, Congress and Senators, have the lives of all of us and the planet in their actions. If a doctor, lawyer, or educator must be licensed to interact with the people, why aren't they? Ethics, Morality, and an Education should be required in order for them to hold their positions. They have our lives and the life of this planet in their thoughts, actions and deeds as a doctor, lawyer or teacher have required education of license to interact with us. Why should they get a pass? Why is the President not required to have a mental health exam?

The bait and switch mentality of unethical behavior is exemplified in the NRA explaining that people kill, not the guns. Lobbies have one agenda and that is to maneuver their goals to a winning and profitable results for themselves despite the consequences. Isn't it time that we prohibit their self interests when it does not serve ALL Americans? Is it not a moral imperative for all to act just? This country was founded on these ideals and the rest of the world was envious but not so much as of late. In the long view, if we continue to act without conscience to the peoples of our world, our world will cease to exist. Have we gotten to the point that we don't care about future generations and our planet? I hope not.

I am thankful that we are able through the diligence of the January 6 committee, to see the truth of the events of the day when our Constitution and democracy was trampled. Those who participated with the intention of disrupting our government should be held accountable. For those who are disgruntled, become educated on how to change circumstances. After all, we can do better. We have that freedom, if we fight to hold it close.

Unless there is radical election finance reform, we will continue to have the worst politicians money can buy. The media is largely complicit as it is owned by the same people who own our politicians. Noam Chomsky's book: Manufacturing Consent, illustrates how propaganda works, and how it creates the illusion of truth. This short YouTube video presents relevant highlights from the book: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9bnFWmHggk

The actual quote Trump said about the Proud Boys during the debate was,

“Proud Boys — stand back and stand by.” Not Stand Down. He signaled for the Proud Boys to “Stand By” which is what they did on January 6, 2021.

It infuriates me how Black people just want to simply exist and have equity in this country but soooo many people still see Black people as second class citizens or worse. The amount of institutionalized and systemic racism that exists in this country is astounding and, perhaps what’s even worse, is that so many people are apathetic about it.

I am up late and share Marianne's concerns. I watched the Netflix movie about Dick Cheney that was creatively done with stunning insight. He even betrayed his own daughter Mary when his daughter Liz ran for U.S. House of Representatives. It made me think twice about Liz. The film is worth viewing and called Vice. Cheney ran our country by defining the executive branch in terms of unity, based on a lawyer's opinion of the Constitution. it's amazing, and the people let it happen, particularly those in the White House. So we must work for justice or move out. My chief worry is not enough people care to rise up in unison so we may lose our democracy since billionaires, like Peter Thiel, who doesn't care and has his acres in New Zealand!

In the midst of all the turbulence of the ‘60’s and 70’s - the assassinations, the Vietnam War, Kent State, Watergate - the late, great Laura Nyro penned her anthem “Save the Country.” Her plea: “save the people, save the children, save the country, NOW” is sadly still - and perhaps more - relevant today than it was then. May we all heed her words and become the active and activist citizens we need to be to save our country now! 🇺🇸

P.S. loved your interview with Bari Weiss and look forward to your new book. God bless you. 💕

And regrettably the war on drugs enforcer/cheerleader now sits at the Resolute desk. And no. 2 garnered attention as CA AG ignoring big white collar crime and locking up minorities for petty offenses.

Another example of what Robert Kennedy framed in 1968. “For there is another type of violence, just as destructive as the bullet or bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions…”

Marianne, I did watch the hearings and It just confirmed the sadness and concern I feel for our country. But there are not definable good and bad guys on this. I have seen other videos that were not shown that bring to light other aspects of what happened that terrible day. But, of course, the political machine that has brought this country to this, has a great deal of responsibility, both sides. Especially the far right and the far left. I believe the only way forward is if we, as Americans, can at least find the capacity to listen, respect and find some compassion for one another. The behavior of our so-called leaders is appalling, and it almost always gets down to money and power over the welfare of We the People. I try to consider all viewpoints, and it is truly impossible for me to see any ideology that has not succumbed to tunnel vision and bad behavior. Violence, destruction, defamation, lies, cheating…by anyone, does not justify the means. I agree we are in deep trouble, we have to use our Higher Power and intuition, because this culture of hatred and judgment is unmanageable and unsustainable.

I remember those years. I remember people talking in coffee shops and taverns about those plots and the devious plots dragged on forever.

Nixon was not the real decision maker, though he sure put on a good act to give that impression. His deep support came from the same crime clan which has a 54% interest in ownership of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, a fully privately-owned corporation. They call the shots on Wall $treet like a kid with a yo-yo---up and down according to the Agenda.

The infamous War on Drugs has disrupted literally millions of lives, breaking up families and imprisoning people to feed the Law n' Order racket, whether at the drug-squad level; the court system and the many attorneys profiting on misery; or ultimately the incarceration industry, broadly known for its corruption, particularly in their choices of "contractors" for most all their needs.

Our ruptured republic, formerly known as America, has become the world's biggest bully and profiteer, both at home and abroad. Thank you, Marianne, for airing this issue. Informed people want to share and to learn all about the carefully hidden true "$tate of the Nation".

I think this is perfect timing for the crumbling of an illusion we hold of America. Our country isn't being run for the people and by the people. It's being run by the departments for the departments and not the clients they serve. Just take a look at one of the largest departments we have - the Department of Health and Human Services. First of all - that's WAY too big to be run by one person, and both being so overwhelmed, nothing improves. I don't know much about the "Health" side of this department, except that we don't have 'health' care - we have disease care with medications as the primary focus of treatment that keeps people dependent on medication instead of addressing life style changes through healthy food and exercise. The department I have the most experience in is Human Services and I can say from experience, this is a department that serves itself by keeping the client dependent on their services and programs which keeps them in survival mode and unable to get out of the system. There was no exit plan built into this model when it was first created during the Great Depression. They needed the numbers to justify the services and programs and now, there is such an overwhelm of clients, people are getting lost in the system and it's my guess - they are feeding the sex trafficking world because it's so easy to lose track of those nobody cares about - especially children. Think about it - if this had been a successful program when people first started entering it - there would be a plan for them to move from survive to thrive - but without that kind of exit plan, it filled up more and more until we now have generational poverty and welfare, because it's operation is numbers driven - the higher the numbers, the more funding is provided. If the numbers go down - that's not seen as a success but is seen as loss of funding. When government agencies come to the end of their budget year, they are encouraged to spend whatever money they have left over because if they don't, it will be decided they didn't need that much and will get less for the next year, so they spend it on things they don't even need. We do NOT have a healthy government operating system just like we don't have a healthy political system. It is time for the old world of deceit, corruption, and lies to come to an end because we are so much more than that but we have to speak up and say, "enough is enough". It's time for our Authenticity to stand up in the face of Conformity and be the people we know we are capable of being.

January 6th will never ever be old news! On that day, it was a vicious attack on our democracy as a nation!

How could anyone ever justify and support this evil act that Trump stirred up and organized because he was a poor loser and could not acknowledge defeat and forwhich he never took responsibility for or was held accountable and punished for!! To compare this to the Nixon era, which was also a disgrace to our democracy, well the only difference is that at least everyone involved in Watergatet were punished for their crime and Nixon himself had to resign in disgrace!
