I did an ABC interview yesterday, sharing my thoughts about what’s happening with the Democratic party. With few exceptions (Senator Michael Bennet of Colorado, Congressman Mike Quigley of Illinois among them), most Democratic leaders appear to have been corralled into place, publicly expressing support for the President while often privately admitting they don’t think he will win the election in November.
One state party leader said anonymously, “I’d speak my mind or I’d be crucified.”
I understand the fear people feel having been warned they would pay a price should they withhold support for the President. I know quite a bit about that. But it’s not an excuse and I appreciate Senator Bennet’s words, “I believe the entire future of our country is at stake. For me this isn’t a question about polling; it’s not a question about politics. It’s a moral question about the future of our country.”
If you like the interview, please spread it around. Follow me on my social media channels, volunteer and so forth.
For those of you who believe the President can win the election in November, I respect that. For those of you who agree that he cannot, this isn’t a moment for complacency; it’s a moment for courage.
I appreciate your support.
You certainly have my full support! I've never been one to cower or go with the status quo. I am the one to stand up in the face of all odds and work towards what I believe is the best - the outcome that will move us and our country in a new healthy direction. Undoubtedly that is to get you in The White House. :) First - let's get some debates going - where you can show our nation why you are the best candidate. Much love and gratitude to you, Marianne!
Dear Marianne
