Thankyou Marianne- my higher self is battling to get out of the womb-LOL I make that lighthearted because I know I have so much to give and incredible potential. Intellectually that's clear to see. I'm a veteran AA'er and when I went to rehab they gave us an expression which I use regularly"Feelings aren't Facts". So true. Yet every morning I have the same battle raging - overcoming irrational fear. Your morning meditations are "The Cavalry". I love you Marianne.
On the second breath we choose either to allow unconscious reaction or inherent wisdom.
This is when we choose judgement or understanding, anger or forgiveness. There’s another choice we make in that moment, need or like. Sadly, this is the dynamic that may dictate the nature of attraction to another. When we lean towards lust, that is hoping to possess on some level, i.e. taking. When we simply like someone, that ego element goes to the background and we simply celebrate the whole person, thus a giving reaction. Movies and TV commercials make money off of pushing our reactions in that first direction. But when we allow our higher selves to consciously override those inclinations on the second breath, we redirect what is not yet changed for the better about ourselves. It is also the point where we can forgive ourselves for that initial spark, because part of growth is acknowledging what is to be overcome over time.
Racism, lust, and denial rarely change at once. But you can feel the process starting.
