Marianne, it was great sitting down with you yesterday, Tuesday, for an impromptu, informal exchange of information and ideas.

Thank you for running. I know it is exhausting with so much uncertainty about your ability to continue to pay the bills. This is not what democracy is supposed to look like; the crown now goes to highest spender!

Women have taken a terrible blow in recent years: no ERA (unbelievable), no equal wages for equal work, no necessary healthcare and permission to make decisions about our own bodies and reproductive lives. We women have been reduced, literally, to second class citizens.

How hard it will be to compete under these conditions and I hope you will win because that is the only way WE will win.

Even if we don’t win the election, please stay in the race to let women and men know we are strong and determined to have equal status. Your communications are strong and honest and we must have a leader like you to win back our role in this democracy. Remember that the earliest and most respected civilizations in the world were matriarchal.

Thank you for your love, kindness and brilliance. We must never give up!
