I suggest that our time calls for something beyond protest. We are at an evolutionary moment with two strands.

One is changing our industrial-economic system sufficiently that we no longer destroy our ecological life support systems. Whether we are motivated by self-preservation or by love, our situation is such that younger generations will have cause for hope when they see that mainstream society is committed to turning things around.

The second strand is cultivating emotional maturity and well-being. For many people, trauma profoundly reduces our capacity for compassion, and all too often manifests as overt cruelty.

It’s time for many of us to go beyond our own comfort zone, and become leaders in our own right. We can act on this by adopting the overarching goal of transitioning to a life-affirming culture, and by helping people we know grasp the systemic changes that are necessary to pull out of our ecological nosedive.

We can also introduce people to tools they can use for themselves to resolve their own emotional issues, if they are so motivated. EFT (the tapping technique) is one readily teachable tool. There also visualization techniques that enable us to meet problematic parts of ourselves.

InspiringTransition.net is a platform to support such leadership.

Love this Marianne.... I was just reading a bible devotional yesterday and here was the quote "And if we trust Jesus’ judgments not only against our culture and our leaders, but also against ourselves, he will save us. He will be our leader and he will defeat our enemies. " What struck me was not the "against our selves" but "against our culture and our leaders". It hit me, I am good at applying God's love and Jesus teachings when it relates to me... however, I will use Jesus authority and courage to unite and be a light for our culture and our leaders... I got all fired up.

Thanks for your post this morning... it affirmed exactly where my mindset is transforming too... this will help our team and community. Love your work. I share your work and do a study on Return to Love... let me know how we can help your God sized purpose in this world.

Loved this. I have also been inspired to reread the books about Eleanor Roosevelt and FDR. I find her such a remarkable woman. We all need a piece of her right now to carry us through such hard times..I have chosen a yellow marker to highlight all the quotes of such strength and passion. I am sharing them with others, as sometimes history gets lost and needs a fire to reignite it. 🌻

Dear Marianne, please consider running for president again. You possess the vision, intelligence, courage and integrity to transform this broken system. You could help to restore a truly representative form of government with "A Politics of Love."

Regarding the unbearably harsh critics. I remember you saying in a lecture at the Saban back in the day, that the brighter your Light, it sometimes bring up the darkness in another.

Thank you so much. There are times - especially recently - that I question my purpose and reason for being here, now. Usually, a very small, sweet flower or bird will give me the answer. This time I needed something stronger. This is a call to action, and I appreciate you writing it for us.

Marianne, I agree with your premise on life and deeply respect your endeavors. Yet, it seems the root cause of our biggest social/environmental problems stems from us Homo Sapiens still not being conscious enough and evolving our mindset to fit the future. In order to diminish all forms of slavery (still inherent with little labor union support/domestic family injustices ), misogyny, and all the other isms, etc., well, these inequities, perpetrated upon 'the people' by our often toxic corporations and misguided government policies, require a massive evolution of our socio-economic systems by us; plus, truly realizing the powers we have as individuals to course correct.

The abolitionists, suffragettes, and civil rights activists did a lot but much, much more needs to manifest in order to avoid a dystopian world. So it seems the only way this can be achieved is by everyone upshifting their thinking right now from fear to love--as you always proclaim. And we must ignore the ego's focus on being separate from one another--we must be coherent! Plus, we must connect every major policy decision to the thrivability of all people and the sustainability of Mother Earth. Indeed, these behavioral changes require a massive shift of thinking but I believe young people are onboard! They see the global hypocrisy that exists, thanks to the technological advances in communications. We need to encourage the young to be bravehearts and seize this moment for all life on Earth. Thanks, Marianne, for all you do, including providing us a platform for our views--allowing democracy to thrive!
