It might just be me, but the arrival of a new year this year seems like a bigger deal than usual.
One can only imagine what the year ahead might bring. Given the way things have been going, a lot of people are already in the “I don’t know how much more of this we can take” zone.
But few lines are more disempowering than, “We’ll just see what happens.” According to A Course in Miracles, projection precedes perception; in deep subconscious ways, we decide what we want to see before we see it.
The attitudes, energies, and feelings with which we enter into a situation go far towards determining how the situation will unfold. Nothing is more 20th Century than to think our perceptions have nothing to do with our reality; nothing is more 21st Century than to realize that our greatest power to change the world lies in our ability to rethink it.
And that’s why the spiritual journey is so relevant: the alignment of heart and mind is our greatest tool for transforming our lives, and our world, in 2022.
For years, I performed a New Year’s Eve service, usually in New York or Los Angeles, mindfully ushering in the New Year at midnight. Tonight, with so many being home for Covid-related reasons, I’ve decided to do it on Instagram Live!
