OPENING OUR HEARTS IN A COLLECTIVE ACT OF LOVE
Supporting hurricane relief efforts in Asheville, North Carolina
Dear Friends,
Please watch the video below!
We had our virtual fundraiser last night for Beloved Asheville, a non-profit organization providing hurricane relief to people in Asheville, North Carolina. People there are dealing with some serious hardships in the aftermath of September’s Hurricane Helene, and I’m delighted that we've raised over $5,000 for them so far.
During the storm, 230 lives were lost and over 126,000 homes were destroyed. The estimated damage is over $53 billion to recover what was lost. Many families were left without housing and/or jobs as many of the restaurants and businesses will not be reopening.
Here is the replay of last night’s event, to give you an idea of the love that was given and received. I know you’ll be as moved as I was by the stories that were shared. It would be amazing if we could double the amount already raised, on their GoFundMe page here.
Thank you so much for joining in. Whether you can give $5 or $50, it’s things like this that really do make a difference.
Love,
Marianne
All manner of gratitude, Marianne. Asheville is home. I’ve published a few posts on the early days in the wake of Helene, now deemed a geologic event with nearly 1900 landslides changing the face of these ancient Appalachian Mountains.
This collective act of love seeds hope and provides warmth.
Hi, this is unrelated but regarding the things going on in this world - after seeing the violence erupt in Amsterdam, wondering how we can pray for Israel, the Jewish people, the People of Gaza, the Middle East
