I can be whoever I choose to be today.
Who and how I was yesterday has no inherent bearing on who and how I choose to be today. My present is not caused by my past, unless I choose that it be so. For in any given moment, regardless of circumstances, I can choose again. I can choose strength instead of weakness, and love instead of fear. I can choose to bless instead of blame, and to lean into the future rather than dragging the past into the present.Â
The limits of yesterday have no power over the unlimited possibilities of this moment. In God all things are possible and in God all things are programmed to be perfect. I make myself available to this moment, allowing the spirit of God to illuminate my heart.
Dear God,Â
May this present moment be a holy one,
In which nothing but Your light
Shines into my mind
And extends through me.
Amen.
I can be whoever I choose to be today.
Hi there. 😀
I surely want this to be true. When I think of what kind of person I want to be at middle age, and what kind of person is needed in the world, I come up with the same thing : compassion and kindness. In service. May it be so.
Big issue: there are many who rebel against the notion "in God all things are programmed to be perfect" since many think this idea means we are predestined without true free will! So this conflicts with the infinite possibilities that may manifest in a holy instant.
It's a conundrum but I vote for ' now' as our reality since past and future are mere illusions and delusions too. Discipline to stay in the present moment or now, however, isn't simple since it requires discipline not common among most, including myself! To me this is the greatest personal life challenge. It's worth the energy to, at the least, try it 😃!
