I surrender my sadness for God to heal.
When sadness overwhelms me, I can’t cast it out with my rational mind. I can’t analyze depression and expect it to dissolve. There are times when I need a miracle to rise above my tears.
Today, or any day when I feel overcome with grief, I’ll remember that God wipes away all tears and He will wipe away mine. This period of sadness is painful but it is temporary. This too shall pass. So have we been promised by God, and his promises are real.
Dear God,
Please take away the sadness in my heart.
Send Your spirit to rearrange my thoughts,
That my emotions might heal.
Make my life again a happy place.
Amen.
I surrender my sadness for God to heal.
Indeed, Marianne often says it's not surprising that so many are depressed with the multitude of social concerns gone astray. However, she also stresses the importance of thought.
One trick I use to try to pull myself out of the sadness-depression rut is to quitely sit down and sincerely ask my higher self or heart: Do you really have problems in this moment? Usually, the answer is NO! And we then realize we generate our own unhappiness or self-pity or whatever by our thoughts. When we choose to flip those bad thoughts to ones of love--then, we realign our Spirit and can actually find sweet joy on any given day. It works!
