I glimpse the true meaning of forgiveness today
True forgiveness is not a lack of discernment or the product of fuzzy thinking. It is the conscious choice to remember the love we experienced, and let go everything else as the illusion it really was. A Course in Miracles describes forgiveness as a “selective remembering.”
Forgiveness doesn’t make us more vulnerable to manipulation or exploitation; in fact, it makes us less so. For the mind that forgives is a mind that is closer to its true nature. The fact that I forgive you doesn’t mean you “won.” It doesn’t mean you got away with something. It simply means I’m free to go back to the light, reclaim my inner peace, and stay there.

Wow...this one really goes through the onion layers. Prior, I have intellectually understood but you put it so succinctly and covered all the bases, so I feel I truly do glimpse the true meaning of forgiveness and that I’m free to go back to the light, reclaim my inner peace, and 🙏STAY THERE❣️🧸 Ahhhhh...THANK YOU, Marianne.
Hi there. 😀
I believe forgiveness is one of the most powerful expressions of love. I would love to see a full-length piece from you on self-forgiveness. I want to believe it is essentially the same as forgiving others, but it doesn't prove out that way in practice.
Thank you for bringing my mind to this today.
