I age with joy.
If we don’t exercise our bodies, then our muscles begin to constrict. And if we don’t exercise our minds, then our attitudes begin to constrict. Nothing constricts our life experiences like the constriction of our thoughts. It limits our possibilities and it limits our joy. We have all seen people who have aged with sorrow; we’ve seen others as well who have aged with joy. It’s time to intend to age with joy, deciding that the joy of youth is a good kind of joy, but it’s not the only kind. In fact, there is a joy in knowing that after all these years, we’ve finally grown up. We’re finally come to know ourselves. We’re finally at home in our own skin.
Dear God,
I surrender to You
My thoughts about age.
For the sake of both my body and soul,
Release me to thoughts of limitless joy.
Amen
I age with joy.
I age with joy.
Beautiful!
“In fact, there is a joy in knowing that after all these years, we’ve finally grown up.” Thanks MW, I’m a work-in-progress on this.
I’m exercising my mind and expanding my thoughts by working on growing up; getting to know my true self; with faith that I will feel comfortable in my own skin. Honesty, openness and willingness are important attitudes for me to get there.
