On the road again and looking forward to it...

As children, we learned about evolution. We were told that if a species demonstrates collective behavioral patterns maladaptive for its survival, then one of two things will happen: it will either evolve or it will go extinct.

Humanity is now at such a maladaptive stage: our recklessness towards the earth, and towards each other, has created an unsustainable trajectory of future development. Something will give … or something will end.

So what is the mutation that would interrupt the maladaptive pattern of human development? The answer is this: a radical realignment of mind and heart.

Whether we get to that evolutionary change through spiritual or secular means is not what matters. What matters is the realization that radical love brings about a fundamental disruption of the fear-based patterns now threatening the world.

Many spiritual and religious figures represent that radical love, and Jesus is one of them.

In my newest book, THE MYSTIC JESUS: The Mind of Love, I discuss Jesus not as a religious figure encased with the narrow dogma or doctrine of organized religion. Rather, I discuss the psychotherapeutic significance of a universal spiritual force representing a “divine intercession from a thought system beyond our own.” (ACIM).

There is within our minds a portal of deliverance from the fears that now dominate the world. On the door to the portal there are many names, and one of them is Jesus.
